Custom Rifle Order Policy and Procedures
It is our desire to provide our customers with a unique experience in purchasing your custom rifle. Please print the quotation form and have it available when you telephone. This will let you follow along during consultation when placing your custom order. However, should you so choose, you may "build your own" from the quotation sheet. Just print, select options, sign and submit by fax or mail, keeping a copy for your records.
Upon receipt of the quotation, whether by conference or mail, we will contact you for review. Then, we will assign a quotation number, sign and return for your final approval signature. We will honor all quoted prices if an order and down payment is received within 30 days of the date on the quote. In house engraving is available and priced per pattern. If you wish to employee your own engraver, we will charge a $50 shipping and handling fee. Payment of your firearm in full is required before we ship to an engraver due to their artistic time constraints. Any other work requested during process or at completion, (not included in original quote) will be at shop rate of $65 per hour, i.e. installation of owner procured sights or other additions.
Upon receipt of the numbered quotation with the final signature, along with the deposited payment of the first half of the total value, we will create your custom rifle order in the shop. Vendor acquisitions will begin for your custom rifle. It is due to these acquisitions that $500 (U.S. Currency) is nonrefundable should you cancel your order.
Work will start when all components are on site and, it is at this time we have committed our facilities to build your custom rifle, and your financial commitment is now nonrefundable. When your rifle is complete, usually 8-12 months, you will be notified. Your final payment will then be requested. Please be sure to send a FFL for the dealer to which we should ship along with your final payment if you have not already done so. Once payment clears, your new custom rifle from Ballard Rifle and Cartridge Company, Inc. will be delivered. Please review again all enclosed documentation and perform procedures before "commissioning" with your first shot. It is for your safety and the preservation of your fine custom rifle. These procedures will help assure a maximum of both enjoyment and retention of your rifles value.
If, due to some unforeseen circumstance, you will not be able to provide the last payment and/or take delivery; your rifle will be become the property of Ballard Rifle & Cartridge Company, Inc. and placed in showroom inventory. Ballard Rifle & Cartridge Company, Inc. will be happy to refund your financial investment, less 15% handling fee, upon the sale of your rifle if within six months. An additional handling fee of 2% per month will be charged until sale or forfeiture due to debt. Since this rifle is custom to your specifications, we can not predict when or if that sale will occur, but we will do our best.
